Educating & Perpetuating Polynesian Culture in Idaho.
Our mission is to empower and uplift the Polynesian Community in Idaho by preserving our cultural heritage, passing down our traditions to our children,
promoting education and economic development,
and sharing our aloha with our Idaho neighbors.
Our Nonprofit
Our nonprofit works to support it's mission through gathering and connecting our Polynesian people here in Idaho, and specifically the Treasure Valley Area.
We will soon have a directory here on our website of Polynesian business owners in the area so that we can support each other as well as have a place to direct people that are looking for Polynesian talent. Our nonprofit coordinates family/community gatherings as well as business networking opportunities and sponsors the annual Island Festival as well as the workshops and classes throughout the year. Building our Mana through learning
Each month we gather to share our culture and learn from each other. Whether it be music, dancing, story-telling, cooking & eating or sharing in some other way-gathering alone helps to perpetuate our culture and strengthen our community.
We are looking for students and teachers for subjects like dance (Hawaiian, Samoan, Tongan, Maori, Tahitian, Fijian) or music (song, chant, ukulele or other instruments). If you are wanting to learn or teach please contact us today! Email: [email protected] |
Idaho Island Festival The Idaho Island Festival is an annual event with the goal to share our cultures with our Idaho community. It gives us a chance to showcase the things that make us unique while also allowing our children to demonstrate things from their heritage that they have learned throughout the year.
It is estimated we had over 8,000 visitors to our first festival in 2024, sharing our music dancing, food and supporting our vendors that came from Hawaii, Washington, Utah, Oregon, California and more. We can't wait to do it again! Watch for updates or sign up to participate: idahoislandfestival.com |
